What airsoft gun is similar to the CA M15A4? **UPGRADERS READ**?
Ok, so this may or may not seem a bit strange but here is my problem: I have the Classic Army m15a4 tactical carbine and I am planning on buying a tightbore barrel(and installing it myself). The problem is i have no experience with upgrading airsoft guns. I have seen videos and tutorials on doing so and, as hard as it seems, i am still determined to do it.
My solution to half the problem is to buy a similar, (cheaper), gun and tinker with that rather than mess up my $160 good gun.
So again, my question is what would be the closest 'clone' of the gun i have(or if any old m16/m4 would be similar...)? I would rather not spend more than 75$ but, alas, if i have to i suppose i will.
Any 'part' stores would also be appreciated info as well. 'Part stores' meaning incomplete guns or guns specifically for this purpose.
PS Please, nothing mentioned about leaving it to the professionals, because you know this is exactly how they started out ^_^

If all you're doing is replacing the barrel, then you don't really need to bother. There's no real risk of damaging the gun during a barrel swap. Just be careful and methodical and you won't go wrong. If in doubt, take photos of assemblies before you take them apart.
If you want to go into the gearbox, then that's a whole other matter.
Any gun with a V2 gearbox will have a similar box, with any other armalite variant M4/M15/M16 having the exact same box with the same external fittings.
