is there a multi-purpose alcohol that can be used to sterilize medical stuff and also can be drank ?
hurricane season is coming..i was wondering if a high proof alcohol can be used as a multi-purpose remedy? I need to know the proof and what it can be used for. sterilize knives/drink/or burn as fuel

actually I'm looking for an all-purpose alcohol. one that can be consumed if stitches need to be placed..and instruments sterilized. I've got the batteries,food, etc "like a sane person would"..but im looking to cover all bases...not "party"
isopropyl alcohol is poisonous.
ethanol, or grain alcohol is what your're looking for.
Do not try to distill down anything that says "denatured", because it has methanol (wood alcohol) and you will go blind (i.e. perfumes are mostly alcohol, BUT denatured. Mouthwash is alcohol, but not denatured in the event someone swallows it)
