What to buy for a school? Suggestions welcome.?
Whilst visting my wife's former elementary school in N-e-g-r-o-s Oriental (hyphenated as Yahoo seem to censor it without), the principle asked if we could help the school in any way. It is clear that Filipinos get good education, but in what way can we help? She was embarrassed to ask specifically what she needed. We don't want to send just cash, but on the other hand we're in the UK and shipping could cost a fair bit if it's anything big.
The only thing I can think of is seeds for their large vegetable patch, perhaps something unusual to Filipinos such as leeks and large bell peppers, but I'm not sure of the agricultural immigration and customs aspects of that. Any ideas gratefully received. Budget would be maybe £100 / USD$150 / EUR 125.
