what instruments of techniques will make a perfect cut on a cake?
I love making cakes, but they usually turn out a little round at the top or the sides I dont like. Is there a tool or a technique to use to get a smooth cut. I am talking about the cake, not the frosting....would wetting a knife help? or warming the knife up or cooling it down?
im confused by the question... smooth cut? like when serving the cake? what does that have to do wirth it being round?
wet knife helps yes. more so a clean knife. wipe it with a towel after each cut.
as far as the roundness, maybe you have too much filling in between? the top of the cake should be a sponge layer flipped over so the smooth bottom is now on top...
