What browser do you use?
Okay, I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to computers. I just purchased a new Toshiba lap top. I paid about $300 for it. Why did I go so cheap? Because it has everything I would need. I don't play games. I don't download music. I read the news, shoot out a couple of emails and call it a day. I don't spend a lot of time on the computer.
My last computer was a Dell lap top. I had it for about 8 years, and it recently had a heart attack and went to cyber heaven. Well, it pretty much did what I needed it to do for those 8 years.
This new Toshiba is hell bent on me installing and running Google Chrome as a browser. I am perfectly happy with Internet Explorer. I tried Firefox on the recommendation of a family member a couple of years ago and didn't see any purpose.
Maybe I am missing out on something. What do some of you experts use?
Ah yes, the great "What is the best web browser?" debate that has been raging on since the dawn of the internet (well, almost). Here are my two cents pretaining to the subject:
I'll keep it short and sweet: I use Internet Explorer. Most would scoff and yell "Microsoft fanboy!" at me for saying that, but it's true. I tried using Firefox, but I didn't like the way it downloads files and the tab system, so I switched back to my beloved Internet Explorer. In fact, I've tried all the well known web browsers out there, like Safari, Opera and Google Chrome. I'm not particularly fond of any of them. I think IE has all the features I need included in the installation, so I don't have to download any addons just so I could alter the way my browser handles YouTube videos.....
What browser you use isn't really that important. All that matters is that you are content with what it has to offer, and don't need anything more. If I were you, I'd compare the browsers and select which one best fits my needs. If you only browse the web to view websites and send emails, then IE would probably be the best choice. If you want a more robust and customisable experience, then Firefox would be your best bet.
Ultimately, all web browsers are the same. They all have the same basic functionality, and each equally perform that duty well.
